300 Viable Things that are God Wills for You and your dear Family

 

What is God’s Will for my life?  Have you ever asked yourself that question?  I know I did many times as a young person.  One thing I think I’ve come to realize over the years is that the will of God can be summed up in three words:

First of all, just Trust and Obey

Trust what God says in His Word and then be obedient to it.  As we do this, He directs our steps one at a time.  What God wants us to do is all throughout His Word and His indwelling Spirit will help me to understand it. The question is, am I, are you, willing to submit to it?

As the world rages on in wars and troubles and uncertainty, we can continue to trust God and His Word.  It is relevant for any time in the pages of our life.  God is the author and finisher of our life: He knows the beginning and will lead us all the way to the end until we close that last chapter on earth and enter His eternal presence.

Below there are 300 things that are God’s will for any and all of us.  I’m sure you can add to the list, if need be, for you.

 

1.Being what He wants me to be every moment

Isaiah 64:8 But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou, our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.

2. Present your bodies a living sacrifice

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

3. Don’t be conformed to the world, love not the world

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

4. Walk in the Spirit

Galatians 5:16 This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

5. Sing and make melody in my heart

Ephesians 5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.

6. Set no evil thing before my eyes

Psalms 101:3 I will set no wicked thing before my eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

7. Don’t go to sleep without having time with the Lord.

Psalms 132:4-5 I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids, Until I find out a place for the LORD, and habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.

8. Meditation in God’s Word

Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

9. Leader/ruler must rule in the fear of God

Leviticus 25:43 Thou shalt not rule over him with rigour; but shalt fear thy God.

10. Forgive, don’t seek vengeance; let God be your avenger

Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

11.Think on “good” things …

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

12. Hunger and thirst after righteousness

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

13. Seek first the kingdom of God

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

14. Walk circumspectly/redeem time,

Ephesians 5:15-16 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

15. Do all to the glory of God

1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

16. Allow God to order your steps

Psalms 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighted in his way.

17. Take heed lest ye fall

1 Corinthians 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

18. Love God will all your heart, soul, mind, your neighbour as yourself

19. Keep yourself from idols

20. Let the world know the God alone is God!

21. No other gods before God Himself

Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

22. Don’t take God’s name in vain

Exodus 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

23. Fellowship with other believers

Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of we together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

24. Honour my parents

Ephesians 6:2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)

25. Don’t kill

Exodus 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.

26. Don’t commit adultery

Exodus 20:14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

27. Don’t steal

Ephesians 4:28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing, which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

28. Don’t lie

Colossians 3:9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds.

29. Don’t covet

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

30. Be holy

37. Fear the Lord

51. Obedience above sacrifice

1 Samuel 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

52. Humble yourself before the Lord

56. Don’t quench the spirit

57. Ask for deliverance

Psalms 50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

58. Be of good courage

Psalms 31:24 Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.

68. Prepare your heart to seek God’s will

69. Don’t get side-tracked from what God has placed you to do at the moment

Nehemiah 6:3 And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?

70. Socialize/celebrate in honor of the Lord’s goodness to you

Nehemiah 8:12 And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them.

71. Obey those who God has placed over you

Ex:  Esther and Mordecai  Esther 2:10 Esther had not shewed her people nor her kindred: for Mordecai had charged her that she should not shew it.

72. Let God be the avenger

Romans 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

73. Don’t gossip

Proverbs 18:8 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.

74. Abstain from appearance of evil

1 Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

75. Delight in God’s Word

Psalms 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditates day and night.

76. Serve the Lord

Psalms 100:2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

77. Trust the Lord and not your own ways

127. Hear reproof

Pro_15:31  The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.

128. Choose your words wisely

Pro 15:23 A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!

130. Be slow to anger and don’t let the sun go down on your anger

135. Stay away from strong drink

Pro_20:1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.

136. Buy the truth and don’t sell it.

Pro_23:23 Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

137. Don’t envy sinners

Pro_23:17  Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the LORD all the day long.

138. Be more concerned about a good name rather than making money

Pro_22:1  A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.

139. Be prudent

Pro_14:8  The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way:

140. Don’t stay too long at your neighbour’s house

Pro_25:17 Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour’s house; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee.

141. Don’t rejoice over your enemies failures

Pro 24:17  Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth

143. Pray for those who persecute you

154. Be in submission to your boss

159. Be industrious

Proverbs. 6:6-8 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.

160. Take care of your body

1 Corinthians 6: 19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

161. Dress nicely/attractively Remember, although God knows our hearts man looks on the outward appearance. We don’t have to look like we came out of a rag bag.

Psalm 45:13 The king’s daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.

162. Look well to the ways of your household

Proverbs 31:27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

163. Submit one to another

Ephesians 5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
