In the first week of Eastertide – the Octave of Easter – we are continually turning our eyes back to the cross and the empty grave. The proclamation, “He is risen!” echoes in our hearts, as the reality of the Christ’s Resurrection continues to dawn on us.

We’ve chosen these Eight Songs of Resurrection to be the soundtrack of these joyous days of Easter Week, and the unfolding weeks of Eastertide.  We hope they help to keep our minds and hearts fixed on Jesus, our Risen King.

1. Easter Sunday: Lord, By Your Cross

“Lord, by your Cross and Resurrection

You set us free, You set us free…

You are the Saviour of the world!”

2. Easter Monday: Mighty Cross

“O the cross of Jesus Christ

Is the reason

I’m alive For His blood, has set me free

It’ll never lose its power for me.”

3. Easter Tuesday: It Was Finished

“Three days buried, they came to mourn

The stone was rolled away, veil was torn

For He had risen, He is the King of all the Earth”

4. Easter Wednesday: Because He Lives

“Amen, Amen

I’m alive, I’m alive

Because He lives!”

5. Easter Thursday: Resurrecting

“By Your spirit I will rise

From the ashes of defeat

The resurrected King, is resurrecting me

In Your name I come alive

To declare Your victory

The resurrected King, is resurrecting me”

6. Easter Friday: Christ is Risen, He is Risen Indeed

“Where doubt and darkness once had been,

They saw Him and their hearts believed.

But blessed are those who have not seen,

Yet sing hallelujah.”

7. Easter Saturday: He Lives

“He lives reigning in power

He lives, name above all names

Hallelujah now forever

Hallelujah Christ is risen!”

8. Easter Octave: Mercy

“Mercy, mercy

As endless as the sea

I’ll sing Your hallelujah

For all eternity”
