Novena Prayers in Preparation for the Feast Day of Mother Mary Birthday
Let us begin, In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
O Chosen One among the daughters of Adam,
admirable Mary,
the Redeemer promised to mankind
from the beginning of the world,
takes delight in your birth,
for He sees the one who is destined
to become the Co-redemptress of souls
by uniting her tears
to the Blood shed on the Cross
to save mankind.
Dearest Mother,
please pray for me and for these my intentions…
…………………….. (State your intentions)
5 Hail Mary…
Prayer:
Your Nativity, O Virgin Mother of God,
was the herald of joy to the whole world;
since from you arose the Sun of Justice,
Christ our God, who, destroying the curse,
bestowed the blessing
and confounding death,
rewarded us with life everlasting.
- Let us celebrate with joy the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
- That she may intercede for us with Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Let us pray:
Grant to us your servants,
we beseech you, O Lord,
the gift of Your heavenly grace,
that as our salvation was begun
in the child-bearing of the Blessed Virgin,
so from this solemn festival of her Nativity
may we obtain an increase of peace.
Through Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Scriptural Meditation
“On the third day, there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee. The mother of Jesus was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited. And they ran out of wine, since the wine provided for the feast had all been used, and the mother of Jesus said to him, ‘They have no wine.’ Jesus said, ‘Woman, what do you want from me? My hour has not come yet.’ His mother said to the servants, ‘Do whatever he tells you.’” (John 2:1-5)
Pause for a moment…
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Prayer
Oh, Blessed Virgin Mary! Chosen and destined by the majestic Trinity to be the Mother of the only begotten Son of the Father, announced by the prophets, expected from the Patriarchs, and desired by all people; Tabernacle and living Temple of the Holy Spirit, Sun without spot, because you were conceived without original sin, Lady of heaven and earth, Queen of angels; we humbly come before you, and rejoice in the solemn annual celebration of your joyful birth; and from the depths of our hearts, we beseech you to be graciously born spiritually in our souls, so that we may be captivated by your love and sweetness, may we always remain united to your so sweet and loving heart.
Today, we beseech your maternal intercession on behalf of all those who desire to enter into a marital union and those who are yet to sanctify their union in the Church (mention the names of those you wish to pray for). You know their anxieties, pains, sufferings, challenges, etc. We ask that through the prayers of this novena and with thy maternal intercession, God may look with mercy upon them and be gracious to them by granting them a befitting companion or helpmate and that the union be sanctified through the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony, for the glory of God’s name, and for their sanctification and salvation.
1 Our Father… 10 Hail Marys… 1 Glory be…
The Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Mary, let Perpetual Succour
Be the answer, to our prayer,
For thy Son, of all the wretched
Gives to thee perpetual care.
Chorus:
Ever ready help hast thou,
Let thy children feel it now.
Of our passions we are weary,
Weary of the yoke of sin;
Yet though longing to be holy,
Faint of heart we ne’er begin.
Succour all, both priests and people,
Who to thee their homage pay,
Toiling men and praying women,
Help them on thy festal day.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
