If the voice of prayer is silent in your life, then the noise of the war drums and the plenty threats of your enemies will easily drown you and your destiny in this life. If you have stopped praying, your are making yourself an easy prey for the devil. See, you are placing yourself in a place where you will be easily displaced by Satan and his cohorts, if you have no place for God in your life. If you fall into a spiritual sleep because prayer is no longer a part of your life, then you will end up like Samson, who started as a warrior but ended as a play thing for his enemies. Jesus had reasons to instruct us to always pray and watch (Matt. 26:41).

To forget to pray, is to forget to live, and all who do so, fall along life’s highway. To have time for seasonal movies, yet no time for a season of prayer, is to play with the fire is the evil ones. To communicate with the world, yet fail to communicate with God in prayer, is to give Satan and his cousins plenty opportunities to destroy you. The day you stop praying is the day you start dying. When prayer is absent in your life, then the presence of Satan will be greatly felt in your life. In deed, you are in a great trouble if you refuse to pray.

PUSH .. Pray until something happens!

To wake up and move out without calling on the God who woke you up, is to take be very careless in life. To put business before the worship of God, is to board the war ship of your bitterest enemies. If you don’t find to talk to God in prayer, I wonder who you will have time to talk to or with. Please, make out time and visit Jesus imprisoned in our tarbanacles, and there in sincere and deep prayers, tell him all that you think, desire and want. Don’t say that God has no role to play in your success story and life; remember that one you be successful without being fulfilled. If you must be fulfilled, you must be connected to the source, God. You can’t go very far in life without he who called himself ‘the life.’

You will wander in wayless ways until you let Jesus the way show you the way. And no matter how hard you work, things won’t work and give you that fulfilment you want, until you learn how to use your knees to talk to your father in heaven. Don’t ever let the voice of prayer become silent in your life; if you do, you will surely realize that success and fulfilment are two different things.

If you don’t pray, you are in a big problem. St. Peter rightly told us to be on high alert because the roaring lion, is on the prowl looking for should to devour. Be smart, be clever; be awake and be prayerful… I come in peace…

So I said Pray Always and Never stop Praying

I’ll be honest with you; prayer is a spiritual discipline that doesn’t come easy to me. I can’t even say with certainty how prayer works. But I know that it does. God listens when we speak to Him, and He answers. I know that prayer brings me into God’s presence in a way I can’t fully understand nor explain. And I know that having a chat with my Creator is a grace-filled luxury that I too often take for granted. So, this raises the question: what does it mean to pray without ceasing?

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18—16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

I’d say we got straight to the point with this one. Paul tells us to “pray without ceasing.” So, if you’re looking for a memory verse about prayer, 1 Thessalonians 5:17 is an easy one. You probably already have it memorized. Congratulations! Now, let’s put it into practice. This doesn’t mean we need to have our heads bowed, hands folded, and eyes closed all day while we pray (the commute is hard enough with eyes open and hands on the wheel). Instead, think of your talks with God as open-ended conversations. At any point in the day, both of you are welcome to jump back in. In a sense, these prayers have no end.

Philippians 4:6—Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

The way to deal with worry is through prayer. There is nothing, absolutely nothing, going on in your life that will surprise God. Nothing’s going to catch Him off guard or stump Him on what the next step should be. So, whatever we are dealing with that has us a bit shaken, talking to God can relieve that worry. He can bring comfort with His guidance and direction.

Jeremiah 33:3—Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.

As the only eternal Being Who has no beginning or end, God has a unique point of view. He knows things (the literal secrets to the meaning of life) that we cannot know apart from Him. And He’s not withholding this information, “Ask me and I will tell you….” If there is something we dads want to know, all we must do is ask. The power of a praying father shouldn’t be underestimated. And with anything, there might be a bit of a learning curve as we get started.

If I had no knowledge of football and asked you to teach me the game, it might take more than a couple of minutes. We may talk about rules and strategies. You would probably want to show me some games and walk me through plays. Eventually, after some shared conversations and experiences, I’d understand. For us to understand the secrets of God, we will have to share some experiences and conversations with Him.

Prayers are a lifelines for our souls

Luke 18:1—One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.

Life can be difficult. We dads know that. Sin has messed everything up, and sometimes everything just goes wrong. However, we can’t give up “never give up.” A talk with the LORD can be the exact encouragement we need to keep going, keep trying. Skim through His Word for just a few minutes, and you’ll see that no one gives a good let’s-keep-going halftime speech like God Almighty.

Psalm 116:2—Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!

When your kids were young, you probably spent some time taking a knee so you could talk to them face-to-face. This psalm paints a beautiful picture of our Creator bending down like the loving Father He is to speak to us face-to-face. And because He is patient enough and willing to listen, we should talk His ear off.

Ephesians 6:18—Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

There’s never a wrong time to pray. Every occasion, good or bad or ordinary, calls our hearts towards the LORD. And be in the moment. It’s easy to let our minds wander when we pray. Focus, “stay alert.” Praying out loud helps me stay present with God while talking to Him. Maybe it will work for you too. But find a solitary place before giving it a try. It will help with avoiding awkward stares.

Psalm 86:3—Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I am calling on you constantly.

The simple truth is, we need God. Every minute of every day, we need God. We need His mercy, His grace, His forgiveness, His wisdom, and direction. There will never be a time we don’t need to pray because there will never be a time we don’t need our Heavenly Father.

 And what is prayer?

Prayer, put simply, is a conversation with God. But, it is also so much more than that: it’s a connection to the very One Who breathed life into us. If we want to know Who God is and the secrets to life that only He has, we must learn to pray without ceasing.
